The course starts at the top of Ithaca's South Hill. The first half mile descends in rolling fashion before steepening into the Troy Rd descent. The turn onto King Rd lessens the pitch but will most likely quicken the pace further as the legs can ease up on the braking. Use caution while turning onto and Coddington to Burns as the roads are open and cars can move quick on Coddington. After a short downhill section on Burns runners will turn onto the South Hill Recway for a point to point running on the hard packed gravel rail trail. The fairly flat to slightly rolling grade will provide a bit of recovery to the legs before a steeper descent propelling runners into a a fun fast last mile of laying it all out there.
