Volunteers

The Lifeline

Whether you do it because it’s just fun to be out there, or to meet others, or fulfill a service requirement, you as a volunteer are critical to making events possible at all. Together we create events that can be life-changing in fitness or confidence goals for entrants, have been the venue for numerous to-be spouses meeting for the first time, and make tangible differences to the teams, fire departments, parks, and non-profits we support each year.

I can’t express thanks enough, but I can a little bit in offering the entry offset structure below. Several of the events will have volunteer areas and signups as part of the UltraSignUp event page. You can also email me at Ian@RedNewtRacing.com with interest in a certain event and/or shift.

Volunteer shifts worth 100% off FOUR future events:

  • Aid Station Captain (Ultra Distance Races):
Responsible for bringing the energy, wisdom, and network needed to charge a dialed in Aid Station. Captains are responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for that aid station for the duration of the event. The event will coordinate w/ the captain to plan/provide/reimburse for supplies as needed to dial in his/her AS. Captains will be provided 100% comp'd entry to any other two events in that season, or two comp's for each event wherein they captain if for more than one event. All volunteer credits are good one-time, and one-time only [meaning they aren't eligible for any sort of transfer credit if you use them to sign up for a race and then can't make it]; they cannot be used to bypass race lotteries or to enter sold-out races, and they cannot be transferred to another individual without prior written approval. All coupon codes earned expire a full calendar year after the race for which they're earned.

Additional fine print: Volunteer coupon codes can be used at any of our races provided they're not already sold-out, and can even be given to a friend or family member if you don't want to use it [with prior written consent]. Just let us know via email if you want to let someone else use your volunteer credit! Volunteer credits expire one calendar year from the race in which they were earned, and while we appreciate walk-up volunteers,we cannot provide volunteer credits unless we have written records of your volunteer service, so sign up to help out ahead of time, okay?
